A draw in the Arab Football Cup finals which was held in the Qatari capital, Doha, put the Syrian team in the second group, along with the Emirates, Tunisia, and the team winner from the match between Yemen and Mauritania.
The tournament, which will be held on the first of December 2021 is the tenth of its kind after an absence of 19 years. 23 teams will participate in it.
Oman, Somalia, Lebanon, Djibouti, Jordan, South Sudan, Bahrain, Kuwait, Mauritania, Yemen, Palestine, Comoros, Libya and Sudan are going to play in the role of the supplement.
The first group includes both Qatar, Iraq, the winner of the match between Oman and Somalia and the winner of the match between Bahrain and Kuwait, while the second group includes our team, Tunisia, UAE, and the winner of the match between Mauritania and Yemen. The third group includes Morocco and Saudi Arabia, the winner of the match between Jordan and South Sudan and the winner of the match between Palestine and Comoros. And finally, the fourth group includes Algeria and Egypt, the winner of the match between Lebanon-Djibouti and the winner of the match between Libya-Sudan match.
It is to be mentioned that the Arab Cup was launched for the first time in 1963 in Beirut while the last tournament was held in Saudi Arabia in 2012. Our team topped second place three times (1963, 1966 and 1988).
