Syria Voices Full Solidarity with Iran against US Decision to Re-impose Economic Sanctions on Tehran

DAMASCUS, (ST)-Syria renewed its full solidarity with the Islamic Republic of Iran against the aggressive policies of the US administration, particularly after the US decision to re-impose economic sanctions on Iran, which were lifted under the multilateral nuclear agreement signed between Iran and the P5+1 group of countries in 2015.

A source at the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said on Tuesday that the Syrian Arab Republic strongly condemns the US decision to re-impose economic sanctions on Iran, affirming that these unilateral and illegal measures, which contradict the International Law, came to confirm the arrogant and hegemonic nature of the US administration’s policies, after it lost credibility before the entire world through its withdrawal from the Iranian nuclear deal, a move that received wide wave of criticism, including by Washington allies.

The source concluded by saying that Syria voices support for Tehran and expresses its confidence that Iran, as a leadership, people and government, will overcome all the impacts irresponsible US procedures.
