Syria, Venezuela Discuss Boosting Trade Exchange

CARACAS, (ST)- Venezuela’s Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Ruben Dario Molina has affirmed the need to boost economic relations between Syria and Venezuela to match the level of political ties between the two countries.

During his visit to the Syrian Social Club in Caracas and meeting with the Syrian Ambassador to Venezuela Khalil al-Bitar as well as with head and members of the club, Molina called for reactivating Syria-Venezuela trade exchange and for operating a Damascus-Caracas direct air route in order to enhance bilateral economic relations.

 He expressed his country’s readiness to provide all necessary facilitations to help Syrian businessmen participate in all the economic activities which the Venezuelan government plans to carry out in order to upgrade the country’s economy.

On his part, the Syrian ambassador highly appreciated the Venezuelan initiatives to consolidate ties between the two countries, stressing that members of the Syrian community in Venezuela play an effective role in enhancing cooperation between Syria and Venezuela.
