DAMASCUS, (ST)- Syria has called on all citizens, who were forced by the war and terrorist attacks to leave the country, to return to their homeland after most of the areas, which were held by terrorists, have been liberated by the Syrian Arab army.
An official source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates told SANA on Tuesday that after the successive achievements made by the Syrian Arab army, represented in liberating many areas from terrorism across the country either by military operations or reconciliation, the Syrian state urges all the Syrians who were forced because of the war and terrorist attacks to leave their country to return after most of the terrorist-held areas were liberated.
“The government of the Syrian Arab Republic, stresses that it is responsible for the security and safety of its citizens and their daily requirements for normal life, including infrastructure, hospitals and schools. At the same time, it reiterates that international humanitarian organizations and the international community should assume their responsibilities in this regard as to ensure suitable environment for the return of the displaced Syrian citizens to their homeland,” the source said.
“The international community and the international organizations, which claim keenness on the interests of the Syrian people, are now urged to lift the coercive illegal economic measure imposed on the Syrian people and which were a further cause for the departure of many Syrians from their war-hit country looking for better life abroad,” the source added.
“The Syrian government and people are shoulder to shoulder working to eliminate the impacts of the war which targeted the Syrians and their potentials,” the source stressed, pointing out that Syria reiterates that the country’s reconstruction will be achieved by the Syrians themselves.
