Cairo, (ST) – Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Faisal Al-Mikdad and Head of the United Arab Emirates delegation participating in the Arab-Japanese political dialogue meeting, held at the headquarters of the League of Arab States in Cairo, Minister of State Ahmed Ali Al-Sayegh, discussed means of enhancing bilateral relations between Syria and the UAE.
Al-Mikdad stressed the depth of the fraternal relations between Syria and the UAE. He expressed appreciation for the role played by the UAE during its membership in the Security Council, during which it defended Arab interests. Minister Al-Mikdad showed appreciation for the UAE’s humanitarian stance in supporting Syria during the earthquake disaster that struck it.
In turn, Al-Sayegh conveyed the love and appreciation of the people and leadership in the Emirates for the Syrian leadership and people. He expressed the UAE’s aspiration for Syria’s rapid recovery and its restoration of its role, which will reflect positively on the security of the region and the Arab countries.
Minister Al-Mikdad also met with Head of Saudi Arabia’s delegation, Walid Abdul Karim Al-Khuraiji, Deputy Foreign Minister.
The two sides affirmed the two countries’ keenness to develop the level of their bilateral relations, and expressed their satisfaction with the level these relations are witnessing after the meeting that brought together President Al-Assad and the Prince Mohammed bin Salman during the Arab Summit in Jeddah.
During the meeting, a number of files of common interest were reviewed, and it was agreed to continue coordination and consultation in the interest of the two peoples and the two brotherly countries.
