Syria, UAE hold talks over cultural and academic cooperation

ABU DHABI, Sep.20, (ST)-Today, ambassador Ghassan Abbas, the Head of the Syrian Mission in Abu Dhabi, discussed with Minister Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Cultural Adviser to the President of the State and Supreme President of the United Arab Emirates University, the ways to enhance joint cooperation in the cultural, academic and scientific fields to serve the interests of the two brotherly countries.

The meeting was held at the University’s headquarters in Al Ain city.

The two sides referred to the importance of working to support the Syrian scientific and academic cadres, the continuity of cultural cooperation, and ensuring scholarships and special discounts for the distinguished and outstanding members of the Syrian Arab community in the UAE, in addition to qualifying the graduating students in line with the requirements of the labor market.

For his part, Anwar Nusseibeh praised the role played by Damascus, the capital of civilization, stressing the importance of the Syrian community and its contribution to the process of construction and development.
