Syria tops the overall ranking at the end of the Homeland Wounded Games

The 3rd International Homeland Wounded Games, held by “Jareeh Watan” (the Homeland Wounded) Project in cooperation with the General Sports Federation, concluded activities in Tishreen and al-Faihaa sports cities in Damascus, with the participation of the teams from Russia, Iraq, Indonesia, Iran and Syria.

The Syrian team topped the overall ranking of the Games with  (10 golds, 19 silvers, and 21 bronzes), followed by the Indonesian team with (10 golds, two silvers, and one bronze).

Meanwhile, the Iraqi team ranked 4th with (8 golds, 8 silvers, and 5 bronzes), and the Russian team came 5th with (2 golds, one silver, and 3 bronzes), and the Iranian team came 6th without any medals.

In the last day’s competitions, the Iraqi team achieved first place in the chair basketball competition, followed by the Syrian team (A) and then the Syrian team (C).

In the wheelchair table tennis competition, our national team won the first three places through Jaber al-Hindi, Muhammad Saleh, and Ahmed al-Taqi, respectively, and in the “standing” method, Abdel Razzaq al-Masry came in third place.

In badminton, our team players won first place in the (SU5) style, through Ahmed Makli, Issa Al-Salem, and Wissam Muhammad, while Allam Suleiman and Thaer Hassan came in second and third place in the (SL4) style, in the (SL3) style, Firas Shiha came second, Hussein Aweini came third, and in the (WH1-2) style, Muhammad Qarbi won the bronze medal.

On the first day of the tournament, the Syrian team won fifteen various medals (3 gold, 6 silver, and 6 bronze), and on the second day, 20 medals (4 gold, 8 silver, and the same bronze).
