Syria to Participate in MEAT in Italy

Damascus, (ST) – The Ministry of Tourism participated in the nineteenth session of the Mediterranean Exhibition of Archaeological Tourism (MEAT), which will be held the Italian province of Salerno next October.

“The ministry has received an invitation to participate in the exhibition, which aims to promote the most important archaeological sites and cultural heritage sites of great importance in addition to the exchange of cultural and tourist experiences among participants,” a statement by the ministry said.

 

“Syria was represented by the Ministry of Tourism as an exhibitor at the fair since 2001, and in 2003 Syria participated as a guest of honor, pointing out that an award was given to Lady Asma al-Assad in the exhibition session of the 2005 in honor of her interest in the protection of monuments and archaeological sites and direct sponsorship, participation and support for the Dialogue of Cultures between peoples,” the statement said.
