On a 25-meter long white canvas, dozens of children have painted their dreams during a festival organized by the al-Midan Cultural center and the Baath Arab Socialist Party’s Quneitra branch under the slogan ‘Syria through the eyes of its children’.
The two-day children festival held in the mid-term holiday included a free painting workshop and a painting on canvas with watercolor where over 60 children drew Syrian historical sites and nature, according to the director of the al-Midan cultural center Iman Laila.
Sun, which represents Syria’s civilization, plus Palmyra, Omayyad Mosque, Bosra auditorium and Hosen citadel were drawn by most of the children, who came from schools and temporary shelters to take part in the activity.
There were also other paintings about immigration from the homeland.
The paintings will be exhibited today in the center located in Damascus.
Children’s theater festival
The activity coincided with the children’s theater festival being held in Damascus, Aleppo, Hama, Lattakia, Tartous, Homs, Hasaka and Qameshli provinces.
The festival, which will last until January 23rd, includes 32 stage shows that will bring smile to the faces of children.
The festival is a regular activity and it is not a reaction to the difficult circumstances in Syria, Director of Children Theater Bassam Naser said during the opening ceremony of the festival in Damascus three days ago.
