Syria takes part in transforming education pre-summit

DAMASCUS, Jun.28, (ST)-The Minister of Education Darem Tabba’a affirmed on Tuesday that integrating technology into education requires several factors, mainly power resources and access to the Internet, which necessitate global support in the use of artificial intelligence and the transformation to virtual schools to provide learning opportunities for all.

The minister’s remarks came during his speech in the virtual pre-summit being held on the Transforming Education on 28-30 June 2022.

A number of representatives of student and youth organizations in Syria gave speeches during the pre-summit in which they stressed the importance of young people as equal partners in transforming education, noting that the difficulties that Syria suffers from due to unilateral economic measures have led to block any educational websites and research sources and prevent young people them from Spreading their ideas.

The overall objective of the pre- summit is to harness the evolving discussions on transforming education, elaborate initial content for the Summit, and generate greater momentum in the lead up to September, according to UNESCO website.

The summit on the transforming education is due to be held on the 19th of September on the sidelines of the 77th of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
