Syria takes part in the 36th International Islamic Unity Conference in Tehran

The 36th International Islamic Unity Conference kicked off in Tehran on Wednesday under the slogan “Islamic unity, peace, avoidance of division and conflict in the Islamic World”.

Intellectuals and researchers from 60 countries, including Syria, are taking part in this conference.

The 4-day event aims at enhancing unity and solidarity among Moslems, developing consensus among Islamic scholars to unify their scientific and cultural viewpoints and presenting practical solutions in order to reach Islamic Unity.

Activities of the conference focus on several topics, including war, just peace, Islamic fraternity, fighting terrorism, religious freedom, accepting religious jurisprudence, combating blasphemy and extremism, and mutual respect among Islamic sects.

In his speech during the conference, Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi said that resistance is the only viable path for the Palestinian people to confront the Israeli entity.

“Those who thought that the way to save Palestine passes through the negotiating table and talking and sitting with those who do not understand logic, they were wrong and they saw that the process of compromising with the Zionists failed and, instead, the process of resistance emerged victorious,” he said.

He stressed that the Islamic Unity Conference encourages representatives of Islamic peoples to unify their efforts to build educated youth who have the spirit of resistance against the enemies and who work to protect the wealth of the Islamic nation in the world of today.

He went on to say that the United States had previously admitted that it was the one who created “ISIS” terrorist organization and sought to confront all who fought this terror group.

The US targeted Qassem Soleimani and Abu Al-Mahdi Al-Muhandis, the heroes of the fight against terrorism, said Raeisi, stressing that Iran’s policy is based on fighting injustice, terrorism and extremism.
