Syria Takes Part in Dubai Gulfood 2014

DUBAI – (ST)- The Syrian pavilion at the food industry exhibition “Gulfood 2014”, being held in Dubai at the International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DWTC) from 23 to 27 Feb., has enjoyed broad audience and interest of all commercial and industrial activities.

The head of the of Syrian Federation of exporters, Mohammed Nasser al Sawah, said in a statement that the Syrian pavilion, which covers an area of 174 square meters, displays products of 13 leading companies specailised in food industry in Syria, stressing the importance of Syrian participation in foreign exhibitions for the promotion of Syrian industry that has proven its strength and its ability to compete despite the difficult circumstances in  Syria.

 “The Syrian participation is supported by the Ministry of Economy and Foreign Trade and Development, Export Promotion Agency, noting that the Exporters Association seeks through this participation to provide ongoing support for exports and the promotion of national products through the definition of Syrian products and finding new consumers and outlets on the regional and global levels,” Mr. al Sawah pointed out.

 The Gulfood is cosidered a strategic platform for traders and businessmen allows them to complete the work. It is also an exhibition to manufacturers, distributors and suppliers from all over the world, representing all aspects of the food trade and its fields.

The event is expected to attract more than 80,000 visitors, said Mark Napier, Gulfood Show Director at the DWTC said.

 This year there will be some 4,500 exhibitors from 120 countries. Last year, there were 4,200 exhibitors from 110 countries.
