Syria Takes Part in 31st International Crafts Fair in India

Syria, represented by the Ministries of Culture and Tourism, is talking part in the 31st Surajkund International Crafts Fair which was opened on Wednesday in the state of Haryana in India.

The opening ceremony of the 15-day event included folklore shows that reflected the civilizations of 20 participating countries, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).

The agency added that the fair aims to showcase handicrafts and encourage craftsmen to protect heritage and to have an idea about the heritage of other countries.

 Syrian Ambassador to India Dr. Riad Abbas and members of the diplomatic corps attended the opening ceremony.

Ambassadors of Egypt and Tunisia visited Syria’s pavilion at the fair.

The 31st Surajkund Crafts Fair (Mela) is one of the most famous fairs, organized every year in Surajkund, Haryana, Near Delhi, by Haryana Tourism Department to promote handicrafts items. Many talented artists come from India and across the World to showcase their handlooms, handicrafts and traditional handicraft items of their respective states.
