Syria strongly condemns U.S., EU’s coercive measures against Russia

Syria has strongly condemned the illegal coercive measures imposed by the United States and the European Union on Russia and voiced solidarity with the Russian Federation in the face of the arrogance and hegemony that characterize the American policy.

An official source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates told SANA on Saturday that these coercive measures contradict in principle with the international law and constitutes a flagrant interference in Russia’s internal affairs.

The source said that Syria again stresses that the pressure being practiced by the West through such measures is part of its repeated attempts to impose its policies on other countries, pointing out that these policies exacerbate tension and undermine stability on the international arena, but they are doomed to failure.

Syria calls for the immediate lifting of these illegal measures and for respecting the international law in order to preserve international peace and stability, the source affirmed.
