Syria stands by China against any attempts to interfere in its internal affairs

Damascus – Foreign and Expatriates Ministry affirmed on Thursday that Syria stands by the People’s Republic of China against any attempts to interfere in its internal affairs.

A source at the ministry said that some international parties recently reopened the file related to the status of the territorial integrity of the People’s Republic of China and the unity of its people through statements and calls that do not serve the Chinese people and aim to obstruct the ongoing efforts to implement international agreements, most notably, the 1992 Consensus based on adhering to the one-China principle, SANA reported.

 

The source added that in light of the strong and historical ties of friendship that connect the Syrian Arab Republic with the People’s Republic of China, the Government of the Syrian Arab Republic reiterates its commitment to the one China principle, affirming its support to the People’s Republic of China against any attempts to interfere in the internal affairs of this friendly country in contrary with the purposes and principles of the UN Charter.
