Syria, South Africa discuss developing economic cooperation

DAMASCUS – Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade Humam al-Jazaeri discussed with Ambassador of South Africa in Damascus Shaun Byneveldt means of enhancing economic, commercial and investment cooperation between the two countries.

Al-Jazaeri highlighted the importance of following up what the two sides have agreed on during the last meetings to enhance cooperation, asserting that there are a lot of fields that Syria and South Africa must deal with to improve their economic relations, SANA reported.

For his part, Byneveldt called for developing a joint blueprint in the development field, preparing agenda for rebuilding process and activating bilateral cooperation in different fields.

 He asserted the importance of cooperation between Syria and BRICS Development Bank in addition to benefitting from the capabilities of the BRICS’ five countries.
