Syria slams Friday’s terror attack in Tunisia

DAMASCUS,(ST)_Syria has slammed Friday’s terrorist attack that targeted the brotherly country Tunisia, calling on the international community to adopt serious stances to counter terrorism.

The condemnation came in a statement released today by Foreign and Expatriates Ministry.

The statement said that Syria strongly condemns the terror attack that took place in Tunisia and express deep sympathy with the brotherly Tunisian people and the victims’ families.

“The terror attacks that hit Tunisia, Kuwait and France on Friday prove that terrorism, which has no limits or religion, target the world peoples,”  the ministry added, indicating that the international community must adopt serious stances to eradicate terrorism and to press the countries that support it, particularly Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Qatar, to abide by the US resolutions on counterterrorism and to abandon their destructive policies, which pose threat to the international peace, stability and security.

“Syria, which is bravely fighting terrorism, reiterates its readiness to cooperate with all sincere efforts that aim at saving the world from this danger,” the ministry said.

The terror attack that hit the town of Sousse [Seaside resort] in Tunisia, killed at least 38 persons and wounded over 36 others.

ISIS claimed responsibility for the atrocity.
