Syria Shuts Nassib Border Crossing in Response to Jordanian Unilateral Actions

DAMASCUS, (ST)_ “The Syrian Arab Republic has decided to close Nassib border crossing with Jordan starting of 02/04/2015 till further notice” an official source from Foreign and Expatriates Ministry said on Thursday.

“The decision was made in response to the unilateral actions taken by Jordanian regime to shut Nassib border crossing with Syria,” the source said.

It added “the crossing is closed completely now and any entry through it will be considered as illegal.”

On Wednesday, Jordan closed the crossing in a unilateral action.

The Syrian government holds the Jordanian authorities responsible for the social and economic impacts of the closure, which blocks traffic of passengers and trucks.
