Syria’s tennis team defeats Sri Lanka and tops its Davis Cup group

Amman (ST): Syria’s men’s tennis team achieved an important victory over Sri Lanka today, 3-0, in Group C in the first round of the Davis Cup, which is being held in Jordan.

Our team beat Jordan 3-0 yesterday, topping its group and qualifying for the next round of the tournament, where it will meet the winner of the Kuwait-Malaysia match tomorrow. If our team wins the next match, it qualifies for the second world group of the tournament.

Our team’s consists of team manager Wassim Zinnia, coach Robert Makhzouma, and players Karim Al-Allaf, Hazem Nou, Yacoub Makhzouma and Amer Nou.
