Syria’s Purple and Venice Youth Orchestra are musical twins

Tartous (ST): The Purple Chorus of the Friends of Music Association in Tartous and the Venice Youth Orchestra of the Friends Association in Mestre signed a twinning and fraternization agreement between them with the aim of developing brotherly bonds and cooperation between the organizations they represent, through video technology at the association’s headquarters in Tartous.

The agreement, which provides for efforts to develop relations between the two sides technically and intellectually, and to exchange visits, concerts, experiences and knowledge related to the musical, artistic, educational and cultural fields, is a global artistic and humanitarian precedent, and evidence of the ability of music, art and beauty to unite peoples and spread love, goodness and peace among them.

Maestro Bisher Issa, conductor of “Purple” Choir and head of the Friends of Music Association in Tartous, said in a statement to news reporter: “The signing of the agreement is a musical event and a unique precedent in the world, especially that it is between a choir and an orchestra, and its aim is to extend the roots of friendship, cooperation and brotherhood across the seas and to overcome all difficulties.
