The Syrian Special Olympics team is to participate in Tokyo Paralympics scheduled to be opened on August 24th in the Japanese capital.
The team comprises Abdul Naser Karkour, as head of the mission, the coaches Jamal Elewi and Fadi Fahham and the athletes Mohammad Khaled Al-Mohammad, Noura Baddour and Fatima Al-Hassan.
Baddour and Al-Hassan were qualified for the Tokyo Paralympics after they scored good results at the international qualifying tournaments.
The athlete Noura Baddour won a bronze medal in the 2019 World Athletics Championship in Kazakhistan. Also, the athlete Fitima Al-Hassan won a silver medal in the Asian Paralympics held in the Indonesian Capital Jakarta in 2018.
The Athlete Mohammad Khaled Al-Mohammad was qualified to Tokyo Paralymics after he won a silver medal in men’s shot put tournament at the World Championship in Dubai.
