Syria’s Olympic football team qualifies for 16th round of Asian Games

Jakarta – Syria’s Olympic football team qualified for the 16th round of the Asian Games currently in Indonesia after beating East Timor 5-2 in the third and final round of the group stage, SANA reported.

Zakaria Hanan, Mahmoud Al Bahar, Abdul Hadi Shalha and Kamel Kawayeh scored Syria’s goals.

The Syrian team’s qualifying came after it ranked second in Group 3 with 6 points, following China which took the lead with 9 points. UAE came off third with 3 points and East Timor fourth with nil points.
