Syria’s Mufti Urges European MPs to Speak up against American Arrogance and Domination Policy

DAMASCUS, (ST)- Mufti of the Syrian Arab Republic Ahmad Badreddin Hassoun has urged European parliamentarians to speak up inside the European Parliament against the American arrogance and domination policy towards countries of the world.

He made the remarks during his meeting on Sunday with the visiting European Parliament delegation led by Vice-President for the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the European Parliament Javier Couso.

Hassoun warned that the suspicious scheme, which the United States, the Zionist enemy as well as the Turkish and Saudi regimes are working hard to implement in Syria, aims at dividing and fragmenting the country.

On his part, Couso said the delegation’s visit to Syria “provided them a chance to see what is really going on here away from western media reports”.

He pointed out that the delegation’s visit to Old Damascus “confirmed that the culture of life can confront and defeat the culture of death”.

On the spread of extremist thinking in Europe, Member of the European parliament Yana Tom said Saudi Arabia has been playing a big role in the mushrooming  of extremist ideas in European countries.
