Homs, (ST)- The Grand Mufti of Syria, Dr. Ahmed Badr Al-Din Hassoun, and the Governor of Homs Talal Al-Barazi recently visited religious and heritage places in Homs.
The visit included the Great al-Nuri Mosque, which is one of the oldest and most important religious places in the city, where he inspected the restoration works in the mosque aiming to fix the damage caused to it by the terrorist war on the country.
The Grand Mufti also visited the old markets of Homs, where business and economic life has returned actively.
Dr. Hassoun participated in the activities of the Peace Carnival held by the Department of Ecumenical Relations and Development of the Patriarchate of Antioch and all East for the Greek Orthodox on the occasion of the International Day of Peace.
The visit of the Mufti to Homs included a visit to the Church of Umm al-Zanar in Old Homs, which is also part of the historical and religious memory of Homs and which was one of the first religious places to be rehabilitated in the old city.
