DAMASCUS, (ST)- Syria’s Grand Mufti Ahmad Badreddin Hassoun has stressed that the Palestinian cause is the compass for all Syria’s stances, pointing out that targeting Syria aims to forcing Syria to change its firm national stances.
During his meeting on Monday with Top Judge of Palestine, advisor of the Palestinian President for Religious Affairs Mahmoud al-Habbash, the mufti affirmed the key role of Islamic scholars in confronting extremist thinking and combating Islamophobia which aims at distorting the image of Islam.
He called for a unified stance in confrontation of enemies’ schemes that aim to undermine the Palestinian cause.
On his part, al-Habbash affirmed that Palestine supports Syria as Syria always did, pointing out that scholars should cooperate to unify the nation in the service of the main cause; the Palestinian cause.
