Syria’s Female Preachers Affirm Voting in Presidential Elections Religious Duty

DAMASCUS, (ST)- The female preachers of Damascus and Damascus Countryside say that taking part in the presidential elections affirms the Syrian people’s determination to use democracy to fight Syria’s enemies and confront  the conspiracy hatched against the country.

During their meeting yesterday at the Ummayad Mosque in Damascus, the preachers talked about the upcoming presidential elections and the importance of supporting this democratic process through active participating. 

They stressed that voting in presidential elections is a religious duty and the responsibility of all citizens, including the preachers, to choose the best candidate who will lead Syria towards more progress and who embodies people’s aspirations, supports resistance and maintains the country’s steadfastness in the face of challenges and difficulties.

They stressed that Syria will continue to be the rock on which all conspiracies are crushed.

The preachers pointed out that going to the ballot boxes within these circumstances means saying “yes” to national unity and means to be armed with democracy to confront the enemy and direct a slap to all who aim at affecting the Syrian people’s option.

They asserted that only the Syrians have the right to decide their future and chose their hoped-for president.
