Syria’s Doors Always Open for Its Friends: PA Speaker

DAMASCUS, (ST)-Speaker of the People’s Assembly Hammoudah al-Sabbagh has stressed that Syria’s doors are always open for its friends who supported it over the years of the crisis.

During his meeting on Tuesday with Ambassador of Belarus in Damascus Alexander Ponomarev, Sabbagh stressed the need to boost parliamentary ties to deepen cooperation between Syria and Belarus in different areas.

On his part, the Belarusian Ambassador, whose mission as an ambassador to Syria is about to end, expressed happiness over the return of security and stability to many areas in Syria and over the start of reconstruction era to build what terrorism had destroyed in the heinous war imposed on the Syrians. He affirmed that he will continue to work as to further consolidate his country’s relations with Syria.

 Ponomarev hailed the great efforts exerted by Syria and Belarus over the past years to enhance economic and cultural cooperation, noting the participation of tens of companies as well as artistic bands in the Damascus International Fair and other economic and social activities held in Syria.
