Syria, Russia will go ahead with combating terrorism and enhancing national reconciliation

Participants in a joint Syrian-Russian press conference, which was held in Damascus on Thursday, discussed the efforts being exerted by both sides to restore normal life to the areas liberated from terrorism in Syria and to pave the way for the return of the refugees and the displaced people to their home.

 

Minister of Local Administration and Environment, Hussein Makhlouf, affirmed that the Syrian state is intensifying efforts to return the displaced Syrians to their residence and end the suffering they endure abroad.

 

“Despite the unilateral coercive measures imposed by the United States and its allies on the Syrian people, the Syrian government has carried out tens of service projects in various governorates that contribute to the returning of the displaced,” Makhlouf said.

He appreciated the joint work with Russia at all levels, particularly in the war against terrorism and the relentless endeavors to return the Syrian refugees.

 

Moreover, Makhlouf talked about the suffering of 60000 people living in Al-Houl Camp, which is under the control of the US-backed ” Syrian Democratic Forces” militia, pointing out that the Syrian government provided 20000 people, who were allowed by terrorist groups to leave the camp, with all basic needs. 

 

He also talked about the suffering of Syrian refugees and displaced people in refugee camps in Lebanon and Idleb. 

 

For his part, Assistant Minister of Health Dr. Ahmad Khleifawi said that the health sector is stable and Syria enjoys acceptable health security as a result of the strategy adopted by the Ministry of Health, despite the challenges that have been imposed on it  by the terrorist war and the accompanying economic blockade and unilateral coercive sanctions. 

 

Representative of the Russian Coordination Center, pointed out that the main efforts during the current month were focused on rebuilding the infrastructure, the return of refugees, implementing humanitarian operations and providing medical assistance to the population and removing mines.

 

General Hasan Suleiman, Director of Poltical Administration in the Syrian army made it clear that the support of some regional and international parties for terrorist group is the main obstacle that hinder the efforts being exerted by Syria and Russia. 

 

He stressed that the US occupation forces in the illegal  Al-Tanf base facilitate the movement of ISIS terrorists in the Syrian Badia to attack civilians on Der Ezzour-Palmyra and Atharya- Salameyeh roads. 

 

General Suleiman affirmed that the Syrian army in cooperation with the friendly  Russian forces will go ahead with combating terrorism and defending civilians as well as enhancing national reconciliation.
