DAMASCUS COUNTRYSIDE, Nov 16, (ST)-Syria and Russia signed on Tuesday a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on providing humanitarian aid.
The signing ceremony was held after the opening session of the joint meeting of the Syrian- Russian coordination ministerial commissions on the return of Syrian Refugees at the Conferences Palace in Damascus, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).
The agency clarified that the Minister of Local Administration and Environment, Eng. Hussein Makhlouf, and Deputy Director of the Affairs of the Presidency of the Russian Federation, Lakina Olga Yurievna signed the memorandum.
It quoted Makhlouf as saying that the deep-rooted Syrian-Russian relations are based on values, mutual respect and cooperation in various political, military, economic and cultural fields.
Makhlouf in addition referred to the strong cooperation with Russia in the reconstruction, expressing thanks to the leadership and people of the Russian Federation for supporting Syria.
For his part, Head of the Syrian-Russian Coordination Center for the Return of Refugees Colonel General Mikhail Mizintsev declared that his country exerts every possible effort to help Syria in all fields to improve the living conditions of the people of Syria.
The ceremony of singing the MOU was followed by Concert in Russian language was performed by school students, who are learning Russian language as a second language.
