Syria, Russia discuss executive steps to complete cooperation projects

MOSCOW, (ST)- A meeting was held on Monday at the Russian Ministry of Economic Development in Moscow between a Syrian delegation led by Minister of Presidential Affairs Mansour Azzam and a Russian delegation representing the ministries of economic development, foreign affairs, energy, industry, trade, finance and agriculture.

The meeting focused on the executive measures that would complete the cooperation projects the two sides have agreed on during the recent visit of the Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and a government delegation to Damascus during which they met with President Bashar Al-Assad and senior Syrian officials.

The talks between the two delegations also concentrated on cooperation in the trade, industrial, agricultural, energy, transport and water sectors. They affirmed the need to meet the needs of local markets of basic materials in the light of the current difficulties facing the Syrian market due to the unfair economic sanctions imposed on the country.
