Syria, Russia Discuss Boosting Energy Cooperation

Damascus, (ST) – Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources Eng. Ali Ghanem discussed here with a delegation of representatives of the International Conference of Industrialists and Businessmen the ways to develop relations and expand cooperation in the energy sector.

Mr. Ghanem reviewed the situation of the oil sector and the efforts exerted to rehabilitate what was destroyed by terrorism after the liberation of the oil fields, indicating the existing cooperation with the Russian companies in the oil and mineral resources sector.

 For his part, the head of the delegation Alexander Viktorovitch Lonov talked about a number of projects of common interest, explaining that the delegation includes a group of the most important businessmen and manufacturers in Russia.

The delegation also hoped that relations between Russia and Syria will be strengthened for the benefit of both sides and to serve mutual interests.

The Russian delegation is currently visiting Syria within the economic activity associated with the opening of the Damascus International Fair.
