Syria, Russia discuss boosting cooperation in the field of energy

Moscow- Syria’s Ambassador to the Russian Federation Bashar Al-Jaafari on Saturday held a meeting with a Russian government delegation during which bilateral cooperation between Syria and Russia in the field of energy was discussed, particularly in the light of current difficult circumstances in Syria.

He clarified that the continuous theft of Syria’s oil and other resources by the US and Turkish occupation forces in addition to the repercussions of the unilateral coercive economic measures imposed by the West on the Syrian people are behind the difficult circumstances from which the Syrians are suffering.

Members of the Russian delegation, which comprised energy consultants and experts, affirmed the Russian Federation’s sincere desire to boost cooperation between the two countries and to continue providing all forms of support for Syria in the face of the economic war.

For his part, Al-Jaafari reiterated the importance of the Russian support in consolidating Syria’s steadfastness, pointing out that the relation between the two countries is governed by geopolitical partnership, thus enhancing this relation is a strategic option for the two leaderships, governments and peoples of both countries.
