Syria ranked second in Arab Kickboxing Championship

After four days of competition in Al-Jalaa Sports Hall in Damascus,  Iraq ranked first in the 13th Arab Kickboxing Championship, Syria came in second place, while Jordan came in third.

The results of the tournament, which witnessed the participation of 11 Arab teams, resulted in the Iraqi team taking first place after winning 17 gold, 9 silver and 5 bronze medals.

The Syrian team came in second place with 16 gold, 17 silver and 14 bronze medals, while Jordan ranked third with 7 gold, 11 silver and 18 bronze. The tournament competitions included three methods: full contact, semi contact, light kick and the “K1” method.

Secretary-General of the Arab Kickboxing Federation, Wasfi Al-Shawabkeh, said in a statement to SANA that the tournament was characterized by wide participation and its competitions were characterized by strength and excitement. The organizational and technical aspects were very distinct, and this is an evidence of the strength of sports cadres in Syria in organizing Arab and international championships

Head of the Syrian Kickboxing Federation Manar Al-Bazra pointed out that the tournament contributed to increasing the experience of the players, especially in light of the lack of external camps, noting the large public attendance that accompanied the tournament competitions and the great efforts made to make this Arab sporting event a success.

Amid an atmosphere of enthusiasm and encouragement from the kickboxing fans, the winners were crowned first places at the end of the competitions. A number of the winners and participants in the tournament expressed their happiness to hold it in Syria, which is one of the strong countries in power games, pointing at the same time to the strength of the competitions starting from the first to the final round.
