Syria qualify for WAFT semis

The men’s national soccer team qualified for the West Asia Football Tournament semi-finals after beating their Jordanian counterparts 2-1 in the third and last round of Group B on Sunday.

Striker Ahmad Doni hit twice(62-82) while the Jordan side’s solo goal was scored by Khalil bani Attiya(22).

With this win,Syria finished as winner of group B with four points from two matches.The Syrian team opened their campaign in the event against Iraq where the final score was 1-1

Iraq came as runners-up in group B and consequently will accompany the Syrian team to the semi-finals.

In the semis,Syria will take on Bahrain while Iraq will go head-to-head with Oman.

This round is schedualed on December 18th.
