Syria participates in the opening of the (Vostok2022) exercises in Russia

Moscow, (ST) – The strategic command and staff exercise “Vostok 2022” was opened in the Russian Federation on Wednesday at the Sergeyevsky training ground in the Primorye Territory. The leaders of the military units of participating foreign countries, including Syria have attended the event.

Addressing the exercise participants, Russian Deputy Defense Minister Colonel Yunus-bek Yevkurov said that tens of thousands of military personnel and thousands of pieces of equipment are performing combat training tasks in real time according to one plan in nine training fields.

Yevkurov added that we are connected not only with the need to strengthen military security near our borders, but also through long-term friendly relations between us. He added that these exercises are part of the coalition of countries.

In their words, representatives of the military units of the participating countries, namely Azerbaijan, Algeria, Armenia, Belarus, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Laos, Mongolia, Nicaragua, Syria and Tajikistan emphasized the peaceful nature of the ongoing joint exercise. They called on the joint military personnel to demonstrate high efficiency, professionalism and interaction in the context of joint implementation of combat training tasks.

Soldiers of the military units of the countries participating in the “Vostok 2022” maneuvers staged a ceremonial march in front of the podium, and the program ended with a large concert performed by artists from the Academic Song and Dance and groups of bands and artists from the countries participating in the exercises.
