Beirut-(ST)- With Syrian participation, the competitions of the Lebanese version of the ninth annual robotics championship were held at the Faculty of Science at the Lebanese University in Beirut, with the participation of more than 600 male and female students from 143 teams, representing 52 educational institutions in Lebanon and Syria.
Dr. Mohib Al-Naqri, head of the Scientific Committee for Robotics at the Excellence and Creativity Authority, explained in a statement to SANA’s correspondent that three Syrian teams, representing Sera Robo Academy, the Genius Club, and the Robostars Club, are participating in the tournament organized by the Lebanese Kalimat Association, in cooperation with the Lebanese University and the municipality of Haret Hreik in addition to a gathering of teachers in Beirut.The championship is sponsored by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Lebanon.
Al-Naqri pointed out that this championship is one of the largest robotics championships in Lebanon and the region, and it witnesses high-level competitions, with the winning teams qualifying to participate in international competitions, such as the International Robotics Championship in Japan.
52 teams from 20 clubs from various governorates participated in the Syrian version of the tournament, which was held on the sixth of April in the Tishreen Sports Hall in Damascus.
