Syria participates in the annual charity bazaar in Geneva

Geneva, (ST) – The annual charity bazaar, organized by the United Nations Women’s Association (UNWL), opens in Geneva today. Its revenues are earmarked to support humanitarian activities in the world with the participation of Syria.

The Syrian Pavilion, which was set up by the Permanent Mission of Syria in Geneva, witnessed a large turnout of the Syrian exhibits, which included models of products and handicrafts that reflect the history, culture and civilization of Syrian society.

Visitors to the pavilion noted the second consecutive participation of Syria in this international charitable activity and their pride in seeing the Syrian national products on display which confirm the recovery of Syrian society despite the difficult circumstances left by the terrorist war on Syria.

For his part, Syria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva, the Ambassador Hossam Eddin Ala, stressed that Syrian participation was an opportunity to showcase traditional industries that reflect the cultural and human heritage that characterizes Syria and stresses the continuation of economic activity in spite of terrorism and unilateral economic measures targeting the Syrian people.
