Syria is participating in the 35th conference of the Arab Federation for Libraries and Information on Tuesday in the Omani capital, Muscat, under the title “Libraries and Arab Archives Institutions and Their Role in Promoting Digital Identity and Citizenship.”
The conference is organized by the Arab Federation for Libraries and Information in cooperation with the Omani Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and Sultan Qaboos University, at the Grand Millennium Muscat Hotel for three days, with the participation of Syria by the Director General of the Assad National Library in Damascus, Fadi Ghanem, and a number of Syrian researchers.
The Syrian side will present two research papers at the conference, the first on the role of Al-Assad National Library in promoting the digital identity of documentary cultural heritage, and it will be discussed by the Director of Al-Assad National Library, Fadi Ghanem, and Director of Bibliographic Media and Publishing at the Library Rania Haddad,
The second research is titled “Digital Documentation of Heritage in the Digital Age: The National Documentation Foundation as a Model” and will be discussed by researcher Ziad Maiman, Head of the International Cooperation Department at the Ministry of Culture, and media professional Mahmoud Al-Jadoua.
The conference program also includes ten practical sessions and workshops in which a large number of researchers will participate, in addition to discussing a research and a scientific paper that addresses the role of libraries in promoting national identity and digital citizenship.
