Syria participates in China International Import Expo

Beijing(ST)-With the participation of Syria, the activities of the China International Import Expo “CIIE 2024” held in Shanghai from the fifth to the tenth of this November kicked off today in its seventh session.

Director of the Local Production and Exports Support and Development Authority Thaer Fayyad explained in a statement that the Ministry of Economy and Foreign Trade, represented by the Authority and in cooperation with the General Establishment for Exhibitions and International Markets, organized the Syrian participation for the first time within the activities of this exhibition, with a pavilion with an area of 132 square meters, including representatives from the public and private sectors.The Syrian pavilion was distinguished by the participation of the Ministry of Tourism through 7 tourism companies, and 5 leading Syrian companies in the field of food industries, olive oil, natural oils, natural cosmetics and soap.

Fayyad pointed out that this participation is the first of its kind to be sponsored by the government, previous participations had been limited to the private sector, indicating the importance of participation in the exhibition as it constitutes an opportunity to display the products of Syrian companies, promote their trademarks, conclude deals, and explore opportunities to develop and increase international trade cooperation, and a distinct opportunity for trade and investment exchange.
