Syria Participates in Algiers International Fair

DAMASCUS, (ST) – Activities of Algiers International Fair were concluded at its forty-eighth session with the participation of Ten Syria Companies specializedin food, medical, pharmaceutical, cosmetic industries and traditional jewelry.

In a statement to local press, the Director General of the Development and Export Promotion Agency Ihab Ismandar said that the Syrian participation in this festival comes to emphasize the strength and cohesion of the Syrian national economy despite the difficult conditions Syria experienced.

“The Syrian participation in this exhibition was organized by the Development and Export Promotion Agency, with the support of the Federation of the Syrian Exporters whereas they Syrian pavilion attracted the attention of visitors and officials in Algeria,” Mr. Ismandar added.

“Algiers International Fair is one of the most important international exhibitions in North Africa being attracts visitors and participants from all over the world including Germany, Italy, France, Poland, Portugal, as well as Iran, India, China, Malaysia, Japan, Vietnam, America, Cuba, Brazil, Chile, Senegal, Syrian, Egypt, Tunisia, Palestine, Libya, Jordan and Sudan, while the number of international participants in the exhibition this year has 528 foreign companies,” Mr. Ismandar commented.

“The exhibition was opened by the Prime Minister of Algeria and in the presence of Ambassador of the Syrian Arab Republic, Dr. Namir Al-Ghanem and a number of members of the Syrian embassy in Algeria, and in the presence of several ministers,” he concluded.
