Syria, Pakistan to develop bilateral relations in the field of transport

Damascus, (ST) –  The Minister of Transport, Eng. Zuhair Khuzaym, discussed today with the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Damascus, Shahid Akhtar means of enhancing bilateral relations in the fields of transport and the importance of developing them.

During the meeting, Khuzaym presented the repercussions of the unilateral coercive measures on the Syrian people, the destruction that the transport sector in Syria was subjected to due to terrorism, and ways to overcome that.

The two sides also discussed the horizon of joint cooperation, especially in the fields of air transport and the importance of linking transport arteries to expand and increase the movement of trade and economic exchange between the two countries.

For his part, Ambassador Akhtar affirmed his country’s position in support of Syria. He pointed to the need to support and strengthen relations between transport institutions, activate and increase the number of flights in the seasons that require that.

Ambassador Akhtar also stressed the importance of activating commercial and economic movement to serve the aspirations of the two friendly peoples.
