Syria, Oman to enhance bilateral relations

Muscat, (ST) – The Deputy Prime Minister of the Sultanate of Oman, Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, discussed with Dr. Buthaina Shaaban, Special Adviser to the Presidency of the Republic and Chair of the Board of Trustees of the “Watan Document” Authority, the relations between Syria and the Sultanate of Oman and means of enhancing bilateral cooperation and developments on the regional and international arenas.

According to the Oman News Agency, Dr. Shaaban referred to the discussions she held with Omani officials as positive in terms of supporting the existing cooperation between the two countries.

 Dr. Shaaban expressed her great pleasure in her visit and the accompanying delegation to the Sultanate of Oman and the development of relations in various fields. She praised the Omani experience in managing national documents, archives and historical studies

She also called for intensified efforts to move to an advanced stage of comprehensive Arab cooperation, where it was agreed to establish bilateral cooperation by working to sign a joint memorandum of understanding within the aforementioned areas.

For his part, Bin Mahmoud Al Said expressed his wishes for more progress and development for the Syrian government and people. 

He stressed that, the Sultanate of Oman pays great attention to preserving heritage as it is the historical memory of the coming generations.
