Minister of Culture Lubana Mushaweh and Secretary General of the Omani National Museum Jamal bin Hasan Al-Mousawi discussed during a meeting on Friday in Damascus issues relating to lending some Syrian archeological pieces, that were damaged during the war in Syria, to Oman for restoration and then for exhibiting them in the Omani museum.
The two sides discussed the possibility of extending the lending of Ibn Majid manuscript to Oman.
The Omani side expressed its readiness for cooperation and for providing assistance to Syria in restoring damaged artworks and artifacts, stressing the importance of holding joint cultural exhibitions in the two countries.
The Omani delegation currently visiting Syria will hand over around 25 Syrian archeological pieces that were restored in Oman to the Syrian Ministry of Culture.
The Syrian-Omani meeting comes within the framework of the cooperation agreement signed between the General Directorate of Antiquities and Museums and Oman National Museum to preserve and protect cultural properties.
