Syria Never Used Chemical Weapons and It Won’t Use Them Because It Doesn’t Have Any: Foreign Ministry

DAMASCUS, (ST)- Upon orders from their masters, the armed terrorist groups and some of their affiliated media outlets have reported fake news about the Syrian Arab army using chemical weapon in the town of Kabani in Lattakia countryside, a source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has said.

The source told SANA on Sunday that the ministry confirms the statement of the General Command of the Army and Armed Forces that categorically denied the news and stressed that it is baseless, particularly because the Syrian Arab Republic had fully cooperated with Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) which itself had declared Syria free of this kind of weapon.

“The Syrian Arab Republic affirms that it has never used such weapons before and it won’t use them now, because it doesn’t possess any of them. Syria also believes that using these poisonous weapons contradicts the country’s moral and international commitments,” said the source.

“At the same time, Syria also reiterates that such hollow media fabrications won’t prevent it from going ahead with its war on terrorism until security is restored to the Syrians and the entire Syrian territory,” the source concluded.
