Syria MOTEX Fair in Beirut

BEIRUT, (ST) – With the participation of 114 Syrian companies specialized in fabric and clothing, activities of the specialized fair in the world of fashion and accessories “Syria MOTEX” began in the Hilton Hotel in Beirut. The event was organized by the Federation of Syrian Exporters of clothing and textiles in cooperation with the Development and Promotion of Exports Society and the Federation of Syrian Exporters.

In a statement to reporters, the head of the Syrian Federation of Exporters. Mohammed al –Sawah underlined the importance of this fair to promote Syrian textile industry, referring to the government’s support for this industry to enable it to overcome the problems and difficulties that stand in its way to restore its momentum.

“Some 400 businessman from Iraq, Jordan, Algeria, Libya, Egypt, Tunisia, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, UAE and Kuwait came to visit the fair in preparation for the conclusion of contracts for the purchase,” Mr. al –Sawah added.

For his part, the chief of Development and Promotion of Exports Society Ihab Ismandar explained in a statement that this fair is a part of a series of exhibitions that have been organized recently in the field of Syrian clothing and textiles, pointing to an increase in the number of exhibitors and visitors to this exhibition that confirms the recovery of the textile sector and the return of the companies to the labor market.

He pointed out that the Society’s role is to support and encourage thes fairs, exhibitors and participants by providing them with the necessary support and bearing a part of the burdens and costs.

 The fair, which runs until April 15, includes children’s clothing, cotton underwear, blankets, bags and socks as well as service companies to facilitate the transport of goods and the payment of financial benefits.
