Syria, Malaysia to Boost Cooperation Relations

 Damascus,(ST) – The Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection Dr. Abdullah Al-Gharbi received here the Director General of the Malaysian company “Renxes Waidah”, Berry Boah, and the accompanying economic and industrial delegation. The two sides discussed means of developing and strengthening cooperation relations and the possibility of establishing industrial projects in Syria.

 The two sides agreed that specialists in the Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection will submit a study to the Malaysian side, including the estimated quantities of cereal crops in Syria, to be considered in the construction of silos in Aleppo, Lattakia, Tartous and Sweida governorates.

  During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the projects carried out by the Malaysian companies in Syria, especially the construction of sewage treatment plants and silos.

 The minister emphasized Syria’s keenness to develop economic and trade cooperation relations with Malaysia and to benefit from its expertise and competencies in establishing industrial projects that follow the institutions and companies of the Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection and contribute to the reconstruction projects of Syria.

 For his part, the Honorary Consul of Malaysia, Samir Al-Kor, expressed the readiness of the Malaysian companies to contribute to economic development projects in Syria that serve the interests of the two friendly countries while maintaining communication and joint coordination.
