Syria, Lebanon Discuss boosting bilateral ties

BEIRUT, (ST)- Lebanese Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Nasif Hatti and Syria’s Ambassador in Beirut Ali Abdul Karim held talks on ways to enhance bilateral relations.

In a statement on Tuesday, Abdul Karim said that he discussed with the Lebanese minister the situation in Lebanon and the challenges facing the newly-formed Lebanese government. He hoped that the new government will manage to implement its tasks successfully.

The Syria Ambassador referred to the victories being achieved by the Syrian Arab army in the war on terrorism and to the state of recovery witnessed in all sectors in the country.

This situation can help Syria and Lebanon cooperate to face common challenges, he said.
