Syria launches with US company the the first phase of the “Ugarit 2 Cable” project

Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Abdul Salam Heikal, tweeted:

📌Under the supervision of President Ahmad Al-Sharaa, we launched, with the American company Unify, a project to upgrade the equipment of the old submarine cable (30 years old), which will double the internet capacity arriving in Syria in two months.

📌 This is the first phase of the “Ugarit 2” project.

📌The second phase includes laying a new 250 km submarine cable between Pentaskinaws and Tartous.
