Syria, Korea discuss requirements of improving Syria’s health sector

Director of the Planning and International Cooperation at the Ministry of Health Zuhair Al-Qarat discussed with the Korean Ambassador to Beirut Jung-Chan Lee ways to enhance joint cooperation in the health sector.

The two sides discussed the most important requirements for improving Syria’s health sector, including the possibility of increasing financial and health support, and securing medical equipment, x-ray machines, and dialysis machines—not just equipment, but also medical supplies and consumables—after the Korean side was provided with a list of the required needs.

The Korean ambassador expressed his country’s readiness to provide all necessary support to advance the health sector.

He also expressed his government’s desire to strengthen relations between the two countries and agree on a mechanism for the Korean government to provide medical grants.
