Syria joins the UAE Declaration on Food Systems, Sustainable Agriculture and Climate Action

During its participation in the Climate Action Summit held in Dubai, Syria joined the UAE Declaration on Resilient Food Systems, Sustainable Agriculture and Climate Action, in addition to the Global Pledge for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency, the Global Cooling Pledge, and the Climate and Health Declaration.

In a statement on the sidelines of the summit, the Minister of Local Administration and Environment, Engineer Hussein Makhlouf, explained that the dialogue sessions that took place during the summit were attended by the Syrian technical delegation representing the various relevant ministries, especially the sessions that resulted in the adoption of the aforementioned declarations. Syria joined these declarations, as is always the case in all agreements, and Syria was one of the first countries to join the agreements in the field of the environment.

Engineer Makhlouf said: We hope that this data will be reflected in international cooperation regarding environmental issues, and Syria hopes to benefit from adaptation and financing funds in the field of the environment.
